Let's Start with June...

Oh boy... Where to begin... June has been a fairly slow month for the Studio overall. Since June has been pretty slow I've decided to try to find a regular job to supplement income for the time being. So far I haven't been successful, but there's some ideas and light on the other side of it all if everything pans out the way I think it will. First thing is if I can get a job I can get stuff paid off and get back in the green and hopefully start saving money. Also I'll be able to do upgrades to the studio and the first upgrade I'm planning on is an interface upgrade. I'm thinking the Focusrite Red 16 Line, it's a Thunderbolt interface with Dante built in so there's a lot of expandability there. I'd be looking at somewhere around $5000 to do it, but it's something I want to do. We'll see what July and beyond holds.

I Want to Talk Goals for a Second

I have some goals I want to accomplish for the second half of 2025. Some personal, some business. So I want to talk about my goals going forward for the rest of the year.

First and foremost... FINDING A JOB... Anyway, some of my goals include being more active on Social Media and posting about things I'm doing in the studio, games I'm playing, and as well as make and release content on YouTube and maybe do some streaming, that I'm still not 100% sure of yet. I plan to try to release at least one video per month on YouTube, Post at least one picture or post per week on Instagram, and maybe write a short 6-7 song EP by year's end. I'm also planning on looking for some networking events in my area to try to connect with other artists and producers in my neck of the woods, maybe even setup a meetup of my own, we'll see. I'm going to try to come up with a system to reach out to clients on social media and try to find some remote work mixing and producing for artists over the internet. I also am looking to renew my AES (Audio Engineering Society) membership. Those are just some of my business goals to try to attract more studio business.

A thing I've started to dabble in the last couple weeks is Modular Synthesis, with a couple programs like VCV Rack and Cardinal (An Open Source Fork of VCV Rack) and I plan to do some really cool stuff with it. There's a lot of potential in Modular and I don't have the money to get into the hardware, so free and open source software is a great alternative. I plan to do a lot with this, make music, sound effects, generative patches, use it as plugin FX in Cubase for mixes. It's damn near limitless. So I'm kinda thinking I may do an EP of modular synth songs.

I Want to Mention....

So a client I've been working with the last 4-5 months has a song we did together and he posted it to Instagram and at the time he told me about it a couple weeks ago it had over 500,000 views which is amazing for clients I work with and their accomplishments have made me feel like that this whole studio thing is actually worth doing. This is the song and the Live Performance Music Video he did for it:

Where to from Here?

Where else, but up? Sure I need a job to supplement my income, but in the mean time until I get a job I can push harder in my studio business and create content around the studio, products like sample packs, beats, stuff like that. Also like I said earlier on, reaching out to artists on the internet, just gotta come up with and implement a system to do it efficiently and effectively. Also there's streaming, I should probably get into that as well. Stream gaming, music production, just anything really.

The road is long, the potential is limitless, going to make SOMETHING happen this year come hell or high water.

This is a recording session I did with Smurkkalot, not on the song above, but one we did a couple weeks previous from this post:
